Sara Collins, LMFT, MA
Hello! If we haven’t met yet, here’s a little bit about me.
I am a follower of Jesus. I am married to my husband Nate, and we have three of the most rambunctious, passionate, superb boys on the planet. We also have a dog, cat, and turtle—and all of our pets, now and for the rest of our lives, will have Harry Potter names.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and work with children and their caregivers to support their emotional well-being, development and recovery from trauma.
I like tea, coffee, wine, chocolate, cheese, friends, family, conversations, books, knitting, cooking, and long walks.
I’m glad you’re here.

Oh, one more thing: the internet is an excellent tool for spreading mental health information, but therapy occurs in a confidential safe place (something the internet notably is not) between you and a counselor who takes the time to listen and understand your unique circumstances, challenges, and strengths. I bring my professional expertise to my blog, but I do not provide therapy here. While I hope my writing can encourage others in their own mental health journeys, it is not a replacement for therapy.
If you need help finding someone, a great resource is psychologytoday.com. This is where I advertised when I was taking new clients. You can find a wealth of information on providers before you even make a call, making it easier to find a counselor who will be a good fit for you.
